When A Recurring Donation Fails
When a recurring donation fails, we try to charge the card two additional times. On the third failure, the system no longer tries to charge the card, and an email is sent to both you and the donor.
There is a donation management link in the donor email; the donor can use the link to update their credit card information. Once their credit card is updated, the donation will once again begin to charge on schedule.
If the donation isn't updated, the donation will remain in your Recurring Donation List, but with a "3 payment failures" notification in red in the donation entry.
If you would like to contact the donors who have failed donations in your system, you can export a report from the Export button at the top-right of your Recurring Payments List. You'll have the option of downloading a list of cancelled donations or of failed donations.
